Bosch aims to help by conducting regular training seminars for its clients. The emphasis is on product knowledge and understanding of how the various systems and its accessories can be utilised. This enables the client to offer customer satisfaction by supplying the correct systems and accessories for any application which automatically increases one’s sales potential. For industry we focus on safety and how to work correctly with our tools as well as correct maintenance and getting the most out of your Bosch power tool.

The seminars are presented in an interesting, informative and concise manner and cover a broad spectrum of subjects and products. Bosch have established training academies in Midrand — Gauteng, Cape Town and Kwa-Zulu Natal offering training modules that meet all educational criteria and are recognised by industry and independent bodies such as GMBA and Build-safe South Africa.

In addition, Bosch offers these seminars countrywide at various locations suitable to the client. Bosch also undertakes tailor-made in-house training.

Meet Peter

Heading the power tool training programme is Peter Du Bruyn. Peter has over 30 years experience in the retail and power tool industry with 20 of these years being spent within the Bosch family. He has been trained at company headquarters in Stuttgart Germany and various other Bosch locations worldwide and ensures that his knowledge is kept up to date by regular training updates. All training courses held at Bosch are conducted by highly qualified trainers that have been trained both locally and internationally and adhere to the strict standards insisted on by Bosch. Overseen by Peter, the Bosch training activities constantly remain at the cutting edge of the power tool industry.

Basic Introduction to Power Tools

Sound product knowledge is the key to any successful company. Therefore, it is imperative to understand the basics of power tools and the relevant accessories to conclude a successful sale. Bosch has designed several training modules to assist its dealers/clients in acquiring these necessary skills.

DIY Power Tools

This is a hands-on seminar where participants are taught the basics of the Bosch DIY range including cordless tools and battery technology, drilling, sawing, sanding/grinding and measuring tools. In addition, participants are taught how to sell these tools effectively according to customer needs, focusing on the features and benefits of each tool.

Target Group:
• Aimed at the DIY trade and retail

Dremel

Dremel is well known for its innovative small hand- held rotary tools.

The Dremel seminar is hands-on and participants are taught how to use and understand this innovative multi-tool system. In addition, participants are taught how to effectively sell the Dremel range and its associated accessories to the end users such as vets, jewellers and various hobbyists. Learning to distinguish the correct tool for the application is of paramount importance.

Power Tool Safety

Safety in the work place is of utmost importance and more so when working with power tools. It has become legislation to have trained people on jobsites. To this end the Bosch power tool academy centres have developed a tailor-made seminar to enable users to understand that both the operators and their co-workers are at risk if safety procedures are not followed when working with power tools. Participants are taught the correct safety practices such as keeping tools in proper operating condition and following manufacturer guidelines on both portable and stationary tools.

The emphasis is on how to correctly use power tools. These courses are tailor-made to the relevant industry

Industrial Wood Power Tools

During this module participants are taught the basics of wood working and the theory behind the relevant tools. In order for participants to fully understand the features and benefits of woodworking tools, emphasis is placed on practical applications.

• Workshops
• Construction

Contents:
• Familiarising participants with hand held power tools for wood working as well as bench top.
• Basic knowledge of wood working.

• Working on sales technique to overcome objections while stating positive benefits.

Industrial Metal Power Tools

During this seminar metalwork is taught on a broad scale. In addition to basic theory, emphasis is placed on practical use of the machines and its related range of accessories. These include angle grinders, straight grinders, nibblers, shears and drills.

Industrial Concrete Power Tools

This seminar is geared at teaching the complete aspect of stone and concrete working on a broad scale. Emphasis is placed on extensive practical work with machines and its associated accessories along with relevant theory.

Target Group:

Specialist retailers who target industries within the main building trade encompassing civil engineering, special construction, road construction, demolition companies, plaster trade, carpentry, roofing and landscaping. It is also aimed at companies selling to the ancillary building trade such as electricians, plumbers, building fitters and scaffolders.
