Hi
I have a Bosch Angle grinder GWS 25-230 and want to
remove the large Bevel gear (part 826 in below diagram, also see photos below)
But I need to remove it from the Grinding spindle (25) and surrounding Bearing flange (822).

Just wondering if someone could give me some advice on the way this is done ?

There is no access underneath the side of Bevel gear (826) to pull it off and
pressing against the bearing flange (which is plastic) seems likely to damage it.

Thanks

Hello Jeff.
Looks like that could be tricky to me.
From the pictures, I assume the spindle must have been cold pressed into the gear. Can't see that there's anything other than friction (tight fit) holding the spindle to the gear from the pics/diagram.
That being the case, you could try supporting the plastic housing as best you can from underneath - perhaps make a box so all 4 sides have some support - then with the bevel gear facing up, apply some heat to it. A small blow torch you might use in a kitchen would be best. You want it small enogh so you can direct the heat only to the gear, avoiding the spindle and the plastic. Once hot, try tapping the spindle out - down through the gear and hosing. It might take a few attempts but I can't see how else it could be done tbh.
Good luck.

Hi Bailey
Thanks for that helpful reply.
Yes, it seems like it was simple to press the gear on from the top during manufacture,
but impossible to get directly underneath to pull off.
Maybe they just never intended for it to be dismantled.
Great idea to heat the bevel gear and tap it, I will try that.
Thanks again.
