Ive had the bosch GLM 50 C laser measure for a while now, but i am having so much battery trouble that i often need to take my old laser measure with me as a backup!

when i turn it on, the battery icon indicates full, but after a short time it drops to nothing and turns off

when i turn on again, the whole process goes round again

the battery cover on the back has always been quite loose, could the connection be loose inside? - to be honest it was like this from when i got it and i was extremely unimpressed for something that was supposed to be rated for professional use

Hello Steve.
Assuming your batteries are good there's definitely something wrong with your tool. I have one of these and if anything, the battery cover is too tight and I find it tricky to get a nail in to remove the cover.
If there's anything wrong with the contacts inside it should be noticeable when you open it up - if they're loose or badly fitting. If the batteries seem to snug up to the contacts quite well then there could be something more serious wrong with the tool.
When you say you've had the tool for "a while", if it's under a year, it'll still be under standard warranty. If you've had it longer, hopefully you registered for the 3-year warranty extension online. My advice is to get Bosch to take a look at it - HERE.
Must admit, although I really like the little GLM 50 C and it's bluetooth features, colour screen etc, I traded to this from a GLM 80. The 80 had a built in lithium battery. A much better idea that I wish Bosch (and others) would just roll out accross the board for such accessories. It makes too much sense not too.
