For some time now I've been looking for the elusive Bosch ADV 82 "Straightening Device". It's basically an attachment to turn a GHO planer into a small thicknesser.
I'd still really like to get hold of one though they are clearly obsolete from Bosch's product list. Any lying around at Bosch HQ/warehouses Bob?
Anybody on the forum got one they'd like to part with?
I've attached a couple of pictures, one shows it in use.

Thanks jg52. Have put a search alert on my ebay just in case. Actually found one for sale, new/boxed, from a Polish tool seller but it's a hefty price and I'm not sure how reliable buying from Poland is. The website looks legit, but still. I wonder why Bosch discontinued this item?

Hi malky.
I bought the ADV 82 tweekie1955 offered me above. I bought an old GHO 31-82 planer to go with it as the ADV manual had this model planer as the one to go with it. It works pretty well.
I had to machine a setting device for it though in order to set the planer flush with the base. They did originally come with one but of the few I've seen for sale, all seem to be missing this crucial piece.
I know the GHO 40-82 is the only planer currently made that has the appropriate hole in the rear for the ADV clamp. Considered getting one but I use the GHO 18v mostly now and didn't want to spend another nigh on GBP300 for a 40-82. I can't see what the problem would be using a 40-82 as opposed to the old 31-82 though.
I couldn't find the pdf you were talking about - not so bright myself sometimes ;) Could you just copy and paste the link? I'd be interested in reading what you're on about.

To use the hyperlink feature: type a word (eg LINK), highlight the word (press shift and drag you cursor over it), hit the hyperlink button (second box from the right at the top of the reply box - looks like a piece of chain), a box will appear asking for the URL/web address. Copy the URL/web address of the page/site you want to link (you can do this as your first step too), go back to your Bosch forum comment and paste the address into the hyperlink box. Click "ok". It should now show up highlighted in blue text.
