When will Bosch radio with Bluetooth be available in the UK, Bob? seems like it is in the US for a while but not here?   a lot of disdcussions on the DAB not being available, and that it fine - but with most people using mobiles seems like this will be a very helpful product?

Hi nagornyyd.

I haven't had an official launch date for a connected radio as of yet. But with connectivity being a main focus at the minute I would suggest it can't be far away... I have heard of people importing them from america as a short term solution from sites such as Amazon. But like i said, no set release date for the UK yet.

So Bob, it has been six months since you told us it will not take long until pb360c will also come to Europe, or UK, at least. I find it very strange that this radio is only sold in the US and here not. We don't even have a bluetooth adapter fot the other radios yet. Companies can not buy from amazon.com Can you, please, at least explain us why it is not sold here also?

Hi vegan001,

I've had a talk with the product managers and hopefully in 2018 there is a chance that there will be a revitalised interest in producting either a DAB radio and or a Bluetooth radio for the EU market including the UK. I've passed on the comments that I see on the forum here and hopefully should swey the Bosch folk to get on the case more actively.

BOB.

what to do when the stuff you want is not available? just build your own!   here is my "ugly creation" - compact, does everything i want and comes off the standard 18v batteries.  out of warranty 18v batteries are plentiful and cheap if ever gives a problem....

-take the best potable Bluetooth speaker you want, take power feed off it...
- take the adjustable  voltage reducer to drop the 18v to the voltage needed for the speaker
- take old 18v tool and use the battery holder
- splash of "no nails" to put together and...

runs like a dream!

Just to add to this that Dewalt have created a stackable site radio with DAB & Bluetooth too: http://products.dewalt.co.uk/storage/productdetails/catno/DWST1-75663-GB/

When can we expect a Bosch version?

Good job. I do love a tool hack!

I've seen that Dewalt DAB/bluetooth built into a stackable box. Bloody good idea. Bosch/Sortimo have built LEDs and chargers into the L-Boxx. No idea why their creativity seemed to stop there. I've mentioned before that an L-Boxxed dust extractor would be a good idea. DAB radio too.

I have seen the Dewalt stackable radio about two years ago, whe a colleague bought it. It was nice and powerful but the bluetooth connection was sooo weak. I got 10 meters away and only a wood door between us stopped the connection. Anyway, a lot better than what Bosch has to offer. I will wait a couple more months and if we don't get anything, I will buy and modify a Makita dab radio. I saw it is pretty easy.
