Hello All.
My corded GBH 2000 is 5 years old. Always reliable, it is now spitting dust from the vents.
Working very low at ground level I'm breaking down old concrete. The machine does sometimes operate right down on the dusty ground. It appears to be sucking up the particles, collecting them up and spitting them out - a continuous blast of sharp pin pricks on bare skin. Not experienced this before, could it be anything other than as I've described... something breaking up inside? On close inspection some of the particles do appear to be tiny fragments of metal.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello pvd.
Sounds like it could be time for you to spend an afternoon opening it up, giving a good clean out (particularly around the fan, and a bit of grease here and there.
If any of the components were eating themselves you'd likely be hearing some strange noises or notice a drop in performance in some respect. As you haven't mentioned that, it probaby just needs a clean.
Worth running an eyeball over the components if you open it up just to check everything.
Exploded diagram and spare parts list HERE.

Thank you Bailey.
I've used it today for a few hours - no grinding, poor perfomance, nothing. All good.
As you suggest, time for the work bench. Not ventured inside one of these machines before... thanks for the very useful link, and your prompt reply and thoughts.
Cheers for now.
