Does anyone know why the GML18V Soundboxx Radio has disappeared?
Nil stock at Amazon and other online retailers in the UK. Can we expect new radio's soon?

Well spotted Kevin.
There are still a couple of places to get new GML 18V's. eBay and Wickes have some for sale.
I've noticed the GPB 12V 10N is more widely available and is a fairly new adition to the Bosch range - looks exactly like the GML 18V but is 12V. Perhaps there's your answer. They quietly discontinued the 18V version in favour of the 12V?
Would be nice if there was a new radio in the pipeline - a DAB one! Until Bosch release a DAB radio I'm more than happy to keep using my trusty 8 year old Pure DAB radio.

Thanks Bailey, Wickes have limited stock, I'll see if they can deliver one to my local store.

Wickes have two in stock and they are not new items, probably returns I'm told.
Why can't the Bosch team give us a roadmap of releases? Looks like I'll have to put Bose on my list to Santa.

My "trusty" Pure DAB radio died a death over Christmas and found myself faced with replacing it. Remembering this thread I went looking for a GML 18V as I'm on the Bosch 18V battery platform and liked it's compact and L-Boxx-able size.
But of course!!! It's not bloody DAB is it!
The only other compact, L-Boxxable DAB/bluetooth site radio was the Festool BR10 DAB+ - which I'm now a proud owner of (thanks Santa). For the record, it's a really neat dinky little thing that, for it's size, has great volume level and clarity. It's so dinky in fact I've taken to mounting it attop my Bosch tripod (it has a 1/4 threaded hole underneath - nice! See pic below) to stop it getting stepped on, unnoticed.
I can't help but feel Bosch really are missing a trick here. There have been thousands of calls for a DAB radio from Bosch on this forum. And, judging by the reaction that my little Festo radio gets onsite (it's the only piece of kit that's ever turned anyones - practically everyone's in this case - head), go the compact, tripod mountable route.

I was looking at those too - really nice design. Somehow ended up with the Hitachi which has good sound but its a bit big!

This is a never ending whinge from me.I run a Makita DAB site radio (DM104 I think) with some of my older out of warranty Bosch batteries.  The battery fits and powers the radio, but you can't close the battery cover as the battery sits too high.  On my ancient and well out of warranty 2.6 Ah batteries I have extended the slot on the + and - connections so the battery sits further down into the case of the Makita radio.  Perfect for me.  I would love a GML but the lack of DAB is a deal breaker.

If anyone else wants a go, you have to double the length of the groove for the + and - connections on the battery.  Don't make them deeper, just longer.  I haven't got a photo of my modified batteries, but this photo poached from the internet shows the slots well:

It is only the + and - slots (the extreme left and right slots) that need lengthening.
