Changeover from 10.8V to 12V

Bosch Professional will change the nomenclature of 10.8V power tools, batteries and chargers to 12V. Therefore the full 10.8V Bosch Professional assortment will be changed to 12V as of January 2017. 12V tools are still 100% compatible with all current (10.8V) and future (12V) Bosch Professional power tools, batteries and chargers.

There is no price upcharge related to the 12V switch.

Due to the 100% compatibility of 10.8V Bosch Professional power tools, batteries and chargers can be further used with all 12V Bosch Professional power tools, batteries and chargers.

Stating 10.8V (nominal filling level) or 12V (high filling level) depends on the filling level of a battery. This is a basic physical behavior of LI-Ion technology. Previously EPTA (European Power Tools Association) accepted only the 10.8V statement, but now 12V is also officially accepted. To align with EPTA, Bosch Professional will adapt its voltage class communication accordingly.
