Checking and Adjusting the Basic Settings

To ensure precise cuts, the basic settings of the power tool must be checked and adjusted as necessary after intensive use.
Experience and suitable special tools are required for this.

A Bosch after-sales service point will handle this work quickly and reliably.

  • Use a workpiece or appropriate object with a precisely defined width x. The length of the object should be approximately the diameter of the saw blade.
  • Slide the object under the protective guard (63) and place it flush against the saw blade.
  • Slide the parallel guide (61) from the right until it touches the object and lock the parallel guide in this position.

Checking:

The spacing indicator (69) must show the width x of the object on the scale (65).

Adjusting:

  • Loosen the screw (70) with the slotted screwdriver provided and align the spacing indicator precisely to the width x.

The clamping force of the guide (71) on the parallel guide can lessen with frequent use.

  • Tighten the adjusting screw (72) until the parallel guide can be securely fixed to the saw table again.

  • Use a workpiece or a suitable object with parallel edges. The length of the object should be approximately the diameter of the saw blade.
  • Slide the object under the protective guard (63) and place it flush against the saw blade.
  • Move the parallel guide (61) from the right until it touches the object.

Checking: (see figure I1)

The parallel guide must be flush with object along its entire length.

Adjusting:

  • Remove the parallel guide from the saw table (59) and use a cross-head screwdriver to loosen the three screws (73) on the lower side of the guide rail of the parallel guide (see figure I2).
  • Push the parallel guide from the front until it is firmly against the scale (65) and, while doing so, align the parallel guide so it is flush along the object on the saw table (see figure I3).
  • Hold the parallel guide in this position and retighten the left and right set screw (74) with the cross-head screw driver provided (see figureI4).
  • Remove the parallel guide from the saw table.
  • Screw the middle set screw (74) further in or out until it is flush with the surface of the guide rail.
  • Maintain the position of the set screws and righten all screws (73) (see figure I5).

If the parallel guide can no longer be fixed to the saw table after aligning, adjust the clamping force of the guide (71) again  see Adjusting the Clamping Force of the Parallel Guide (see figure H).
