In 2019 we ran a survey and learned that our vast product selection was too complicated: many professionals struggled to find the right accessory for their task. To make our portfolio easier to navigate we divided it into 3 performance classes: Bosch EXPERT, Bosch PRO, and Bosch.

The choice of a performance class depends on the difficulty and complexity of the job at hand.

The EXPERT accessories are designed for the toughest materials and most demanding applications. They use our most advanced technologies to help you cut through heavy cast-iron pipes, drill into reinforced concrete without having to stop when you hit rebar, and complete many other heavy-duty jobs with less strain.

Bosch PRO brings in a comprehensive selection of accessories for all standard and many special applications. PRO accessories are the best option when you don’t need to cut heavy cast-iron pipes or drill into concrete with rebars all day. They help you work efficiently – also when you want to cut less common materials, like ice, carpet, linoleum, and mineral wool.

Finally, the Bosch performance class offers trusted-quality products that our users worldwide have been relying on for decades. When you need to drill a couple of holes in concrete or complete any lighter-duty or occasional task, Bosch accessories are your safest choice.

Imagine you are a demolition worker who needs to complete a heavy-duty job. The job involves a lot of cutting through hardwood, wood-plastic composites, and wood with hardened screws and nails.

When you look at our reciprocating saw blades, you can immediately see these materials (represented by the icons) on the packaging of the EXPERT Wood with Metal Demolition. You’ll also notice that this reciprocating saw blade offers outstanding performance: it lasts 50x longer than our high-quality standard blade. This means the EXPERT Wood with Metal Demolition will help you get your tough demolition job done faster and with less strain.

Your next demolition project is less intense: it doesn’t involve cutting through tough materials the entire day, but may require cutting through some tough materials, like construction wood, chipboard, and plastics. A quick look at the packaging of the PRO Multi Material Demolition should be enough to know you have the right accessory for the job.

Finally, when you want to complete a lighter-duty demolition project (you still need to cut through wood with embedded metal), you are safe to choose a reciprocating saw blade from our Bosch performance class.

DRILLING

Another scenario: You are a construction worker or installer who needs a strong, hard-wearing drill bit to make many clean and precise holes in various materials (concrete, soft tiles, metal, softwood, and plastics).

Engineered to help you drill in various materials with precision, the top-performing EXPERT HEX-9 Multi Construction will be the right choice.

But if you need to drill in masonry alone (concrete, stone, and brick), you can also go for our hardwearing PRO HEX-5.

And when you only want to make a few holes in concrete or stone, be sure our trusted-quality CYL-9 drill bit will help you get the job done, even though it will last less than EXPERT or PRO drill bits.

CUTTING HARDWOOD WITH JIGSAWS

One last scenario: You work with a jigsaw and want to get clean cuts on both sides of your wood workpiece. We designed our EXPERT Hardwood 2-side clean T308BF Jigsaw Blade precisely for this specific application.

But if you only need to get a clean cut on the top of your workpiece, you may be better off with the PRO Hardwood clean reverse T101BRF. It has teeth with a reverse design to help you get tear-free cuts on the top of the workpiece.
