Hi a newbie looking for info regarding the riving knife my saw is 2 months old but for the life of me i cant do trench cuts as the riving knife will not go below the blade its not the same issie as older model as it has different knife iv stripped it down and the last two pin holes wont allow it to go further down am i missing something before i grind it down thanxs in advance

is this the gts10xc? if so, the riving knife can be removed. if you're doing trench cuts as I do often, I tend to remove the riving knife on some machines, the riving knife should drop down in line with the blade at it''s highest tooth point to centre of blade, if it's above it when dropped down it may be debris, give it a good clean out, if you can remove the knife, clean the holes of the knife, also the pins locating it.

I have the GTS18v-216 and the knife can be fiddly, I also have a temporary metabo and that can be a headache to set up.
