Festool Workpiece Clamp on a Bosch Mitre Saw??

Hello all.
Another little hack here some might find useful. I've no idea why mitre saw manufacturers don't make quick clamps for them. Instead they supply those irritating screw down clamps which are such a faff, hardly anyone bothers using them.
Enter the Festool KL-KS workpiece clamp. It's usually found on their KS120 mitre saw. Will it fit other brands of mitre saw? No.
The stem of the Festool clamp is 16.5 mm at the end that enters the mitre saw table, a little thicker further up. Most of the more common screw down clamps are 15.5 mm. So, 2 minutes on a grinder and another couple of minutes with a file to neaten things up and make some fine adjustment, I now have a Festool quick clamp fitted to my Bosch GCM 8 SJL. It fits my GCM 12 GDL too.
I don't use clamps often but they are very useful when you want to keep multiple pieces together to cut in one pass or, to hold a piece of sacrificial timber against the fence when you want to do some trenching (allowing the blade to pass right over the piece you're trenching rather than having to flip it around).
I paid £37 for my clamp from FFX. Not particularly cheap but, not exactly bank breaking money like a KS120!
Hope this is helpful should anyone of been thinking of doing the same.

Very smart and nicely done, and you're a great narrator. Very pleasant and clear voice. The screw down clamps are slow and will seldom be used by most people, so it's a safety concern. I'm guilty too, so I'm planning on something similar to this, or I may even copy it.

I'll try to mod my GCM 8 SDE to get a shadow line too. A shadow line is far superior to a laser in that application imo. To do so you need to have the light at the center of the blade, and I may be able to fit a powerful led light close to the dust shrout as I want to keep the blade guard on.

Thanks diygeezer. The qualities not great on the videos, I just use my old phone, but I thought creating a YT channel would be a good to compliment my input here.
I've used the clamp a few times onsite now to hold a sacrificial piece of timber whilst trenching. Much easier on my left hand as I'm not having to hold both pieces against the fence!
The stem of the Festool clamp is a funny design. I think it must have a sort of turn-lock action looking at the shape, when used on the saw it's mean for. The upper 2/3's of the stem are around 18mm diameter. Only the lower section that would be inserted into the saw is around 16.5mm diameter. This is the bit you'd need to grind away a little obviously. But it really didn't take a lot.
I just can't understand why only Festool do a quick clamp for mitre saws. Surely it can't be a patent issue as the Festool clamp uses the exact same method as our ladder clamps on the van rack?
Quite like the shadow line idea. Seen a few people on YouTube retrofit one. See below.
