So a few years ago I mistakenly bought the gks18v-57 instead of the 57G model. I was also suckered by the Bosch blurb which suggested that the side the blade is on was optional / changeable (in fact they meant that they were now offering the gks18v with the blade on the left and the 57 models with it on the right...terrible wording Bosch!) I had used the saw before I realised there seemed to be no compatability with the guide rails so ended up keeping it. I dropped it a few weeks back and deformed the base slightly and so was wondering does anyone know if I can buy the base from a 57g and use that with my standard 57 model? Thank you in advance for sharing your superior knowledge guys :)

Having a glance at a few pics online, it does look like you could swap out for the "G" base. Problem is, neither the GKS 18V 57 or the G version are listed on the spare parts websites.
You might have to actually phone Bosch (see the "service" tab above) or see if a dealer can get you the part, or at least part number, for you to track it down.

I did manage to find it on the Bosch Europe site with a price in £. For what it is I may order it and see. It's these questions that Bob should be answering really isn't it!? I'm also called Robert...maybe Bosch want to give me a job, I'm probably on here as much as he is anyway

Parts search - https://www.boschtoolservice.com/gb/en/boschprof/spareparts/search-results?q=GKS+18V-57

Guide rail model - try this: https://www.boschtoolservice.com/gb/en/boschprof/spareparts/cordless-circular-saw-gks-18v-57-g-3601FA2140

Pos. 69
Base Plate
1 619 P11 908
£33.49*

Maybe play around with the drawings of the G model and the ordinary one to ascertain all other parts are indeed the same before you part with any money.

All usual disclaimers apply!!!!!

Thanks for figuring this out niemeyjt.

Did anyone try it in the end? I've just realised I've made the same mistake with the non-G version.

I've compared the two lists and I think you'd probably need all of the lower RH quarter of the diag. It's about £70; less if you deduplicate some of the bits you'll get from the current base plate, less again if you don't use Bosch washers etc.

I'm prepared to give it a go though as I cannot get the -G model where I am.

How did you get on? Did you find everything you ordered was required? Mine is now out of warranty so for £77 I would probably just replace the whole saw. Double the money but a brand new 3 year warranty and another lboxx :)

Managed to do this over the weekend. Was virtually all fine in the end. Hardest was separating the old base from the body... done witrh liberal use of a persuader. There's a slight issue with the position of the blade against the blue silicone guide on the rail (it's a bit tight) but again, fairly easily rectified. All in all, pretty simple. I created a blog post about it... https://tinyurl.com/y5gdtrg6
