The GBH 18V-40 C Professional offers corded performance thanks to its BITURBO Brushless technology providing powerful 9.0 J impact energy. Cordless freedom with ProCORE18V batteries allows fast drilling up to 40 mm and chisel works even in tough environments. It provides an optimal power-to-weight ratio due to an improved impact mechanism and highly capable drive train. In addition to the overload clutch the GBH 18V-40 C offers KickBack Control, which senses sudden loss of tool control. In case of e.g. a canted drill it instantly shuts the cordless rotary hammer down in order to minimise hand and arm injuries.
The GBH 18V-40 C Professional is compatible with all Bosch Professional 18V batteries and chargers (Professional 18V system). To reach the maximum power in concrete, stone, and masonry, choose a ProCORE18V battery ≥ 5.5 Ah. Also compatible with AMPShare, the multi-brand battery alliance.
A user interface with Bluetooth connectivity displays the real-time status of the tool. Different working modes can be selected and optionally configured via Bosch Toolbox app. It also features Soft Start technologies as Electronic Precision Control (EPC) and Adaptive Speed Control (ASC) for comfortable and precise work processes when drilling and chiselling, an LED light, variable speed, lock-on button, and Vario-Lock.

European Power Tool Association (EPTA) Procedure 05 provides a common method for the determination of the single impact energy for rotary hammers and breakers.
It defines a standardized measurement method, which ensures comparability between different tools and member companies.
The parameters defined in this procedure are standardized, whereas the real parameters can vary, e.g. due to different working conditions, bit dimensions, condition of work piece.
