Music to me is an important part of workshop life, it reflects on what I'm doing and my mood. If stressed out, I find something relaxing and inspiring on my ipod and stream it over bluetooth while connected to USB to keep it charged, if I fancy something more modern, then great, whether I'm sanding, cutting, working on delicate jobs, music is what gives me the drive forward, I can't stand a quiet, empty workshop. So, the GPB18V5SC steps in and delivers that in shovels. A nice, rich sound with enough bass to give feeling but not enough to be obnoxious unlike some site radios I can think of. Whether it's my ipod or the DAB radio, which I usually have Classic FM playing for a bit of inspiration, the sound is clear, high quality and enjoyable. Whether you choose to power this via the built in power lead which features 2 x 230v outlets, or you run it off a bosch battery, I'd recommend the procore 4AH which will give you a good day's listening pleasure, you're catered for. The build quality is impressive, battery and ipod storage are protected against dust and it's easy to use. There's a bit of weight to it but that's part of the chassis design and best way of achieving the sound you want. If you want a site radio with the right features, this is the one for you. Just so you're aware, This does not have the ability to directly charge batteries, but you can connect a charger via one of the 230v outlets whilst connected to the mains and charge, but make sure the charger is away from the radio when in DAB mode as you might get a bit of digital noise.
